Sworn translation

These are official translations bearing the signature and stamp of a Sworn Interpreter, who is the only professional qualified to provide this kind of translations.

Sworn Interpreters are appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and their signature and stamp are registered in the Office of Interpretation of Languages in Madrid and in the Government Representative’s Office of the province where they live.

Sworn translations are delivered in paper and, in addition to the signature and stamp, they include a mandatory certification.

The usual documents a sworn interpreter works with are the following:

  • Academic certificates (for official validations and recognitions)
  • Marriage, birth, death or police clearance certificates.
  • Wills, affidavits and other official statements.
  • Agreements, contracts, public deeds, etc.
  • Articles of incorporation, annual accounts, etc.

I work with several law firms, financial entities, insurance companies, consultants and notary offices in the legal and financial field for the translation, not necessarily official, of this kind of documents.

In addition, many clients entrust me with their private documents for translation.

I can work with very short deadlines to satisfy the clients' needs.

Technical translation

Translation of specialized manuals and documents requires to keep a close eye on terminology. With the use of specialized glossaries and translation memories, the term consistency is guaranteed in all the texts coming from the same client. For this type of jobs, communication with the client is essential in order to ensure a perfect outcome.

I have translated five books published by Anaya Multimedia in the IT field. I have also worked in the translation of many technical manuals into Spanish for several companies belonging to various fields including software, electronics, machinery, navigation, energy, etc.

Commercial, tourism and marketing translation

In order to be successful, commercial translations must sound natural in the target language. You must have the feeling that you are reading a text which was originally written in the target language.

The goal is to maintain the tone and intention behind the original text, which involves an effort of adaptation to the target audience.

Translated texts are delivered in the format and by the means preferred by the client.

In the case of sworn translations, the client receives the original translation signed and stamped by the interpreter. These documents can be delivered by hand or sent anywhere you wish by regular mail.
